Challenge
Reroof the iconic UN General Assembly Building – the original roof was past its useful service life. Help facilitate the uninterrupted operation of the UN General Assembly Hall, the heart of the building’s internationally-critical operations.
Solution
- A nailed base sheet was installed over the existing reroofable lightweight insulating concrete deck
- Two layers of Paradiene 20, followed by a Paradiene 30 FR TG granule-surfaced finish ply were applied to complete the project
- Project was one of several successful Siplast projects at this landmark location
- The proven, redundant, robust SBS-Modified Bitumen system will protect the UN General Assembly Building through many more historic years
